Carnival sues Rolls-Royce over faulty QM2 propulsion pod system

(MIAMI) -- The Carnival cruise line has sued Rolls-Royce, claiming the British company's propulsion pod system for the Queen Mary 2 was faulty, the Times of London reported. The $100 million lawsuit seeks to recover damages for drydock maintenance and lost revenue as a result of the "defective" Mermaid pods. Science boat Explorer wins WorkBoat Show’s environmental award

Mariners begin obeying new slow-down rule off South Carolina

(CHARLESTON, S.C.) -- Commercial mariners and the Charleston Branch Pilots' Association have begun slowing their vessel's down off South Carolina to obey a new rule protecting migrating right whales, the Post and Courier newspaper reported.
