(SALEM, Ore.) — The Willamette Falls Locks will open this weekend after a two-year closure, the Oregonian newspaper reported. The sternwheeler Willamette Queen, full of passengers, will be the first vessel through. The 137-year-old locks received $2 million in federal money for a safety and repair project.
