(NEWPORT NEWS, Va.) — The James River Reserve Fleet tanker Monongahela has finally been salvaged, and tugboats are returning the ship to where it belongs, The Daily Press newspaper reported. The mothballed vessel broke from its moorings 69 days earlier during a storm. The Maritime Administration promises to try to determine the cause of the problem so that it doesn’t happen again.
