U.S.-flagged tugboat sinks north of Jamaica; 4 crew rescued

(BOSTON) — Four mariners were rescued after a U.S.-flagged tugboat sank off Jamaica, the Cape Cod Times newspaper reported. A Coast Guard aircraft, normally based in Massachusetts but temporarily assigned to Haiti relief duty, and a Coast Guard helicopter helped to rescue the four mariners from a life raft. Their tugboat, the Betty, sank about 50 miles north of Jamaica.
