(VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.) — Two tugboat with towlines freed the Crowley Maritime barge La Princesa, which had been grounded off Virginia Beach since last week, the Virginian-Pilot newspaper reported. The 570-foot barge is now undergoing inspection to determine if it is safe to continue its scheduled voyage to New Jersey with the tugboat Sentry. During the salvage operation at high tide, three tugboats were used but one towline broke free and the two remaining boats eventually finished the job.
