Tugboat arson sheds light on vessel dumping off British Columbia

(VICTORIA, British Columbia) — A tugboat that was torched in Sooke harbor was owned by a man who has abandoned other vessels in the vicinity, the Times Colonist newspaper reported. Authorities say arson was suspected in the fire that destroyed the Florence Fiberg. Legal documents allege that the owner of the tug has a history of dumping unwanted vessels in the nearby area.
