Tenn. eyes criminal charges against towboat company in fatal crash

(CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.) — State officials and the Hamilton County District Attorney have discussed possible criminal charges against a towboat company whose vessel allegedly struck a fishing boat, killing two people, the Chattanooga Times Free Press newspaper reported. The Coast Guard has questioned whether Serodino Inc.’s towboat Bearcat had a proper lookout. Serodino has filed court papers attempting to limit its liability in the case.
