(TAMPA, Fla.) — Tampa Bay harbor pilots earned an estimated average of $262,392 in 2008, the Tampa Tribune reported. That’s about $100,000 less than in 2006, because ship traffic slowed in the 2008 economic downturn. The pilots agreed to a 3 percent raise in 2009 and another 3 percent in 2010.
