(SAN FRANCISCO) — California’s state auditor says to many of the San Francisco area’s bar pilots may be unfit for duty, The Examiner news Web site reported. The state audit says the board of pilot commissioners hasn’t taken enough steps to ensure that pilots have the proper medical exams. New pilots have been issued licenses without the exams and other pilots used physicians that weren’t approved for the job, according to the audit.
