Schottel opens new facilities in Louisiana, Australia

(HOUMA, La.) — With an inauguration ceremony, Schottel opened new facilities in Houma, Louisiana in October 2013. As an answer to the growing request for new Schotell propulsion systems and the steadily growing population of drives on the market the German manufacturer opened new facilities. The new spacious premises offer a large administration area and state of the art service halls equipped with heavy lift cranes especially suitable for large units.

Schotell also has announced the founding of a subsidiary in Fremantle, Australia. Mohamed Salah Ghonem has been appointed director of Schotell Australia. He is responsible for all sales activities in Australia. Ghonem studied Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering in Alexandria – Egypt. During his work in the marine industry Ghonem has collected a broad experience at yards, shipowners, marine design bureaus and in the engineering industry. This will help him understand customer needs.
