Pacific schooner Wawona on its way to scrapyard today (PHOTO)

(SEATTLE) — The dilapidated schooner Wawona will be towed from its Lake Union moorage today to a dry dock to be dismantled, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported. The 112-year-old ship, with 110-foot-tall masts, at various times hauled lumber, tourists and war material. It is one of only two vessels left that were part of the Pacific schooner fishing fleet.
