(PHILADELPHIA) — The historic ocean liner SS United States is for sale, the Los Angeles Times reported on a Travel section blog. Norwegian Cruise Lines, which once had planned to refurbish the vintage ship, has listed it with a ship broker offering it for sale to a U.S. entity. Preservationists fear the vessel, which may cost $100 million to fix up, will instead be sold for scrap.
