Obama seeking $50M for expanded facilities at Guam port

(GUAM) — President Obama intends to shift $50 million from the federal budget toward upgrades at the Guam port, the Pacific Daily News reported. The port is undergoing a major expansion due to the federal government’s plans to grow the military bases on the island. Authorities say civilian infrastructure improvements are needed to ensure that the movement of personnel and cargo is not delayed.
