Jurors: Bouchard must pay for 2003 Mass. spill (PHOTO GALLERY)

(PLYMOUTH, Mass.) — A jury has decided that Bouchard Transportation should pay property owners where an oil spill polluted Buzzards Bay, the Cape Cod Times newspaper reported. In 2003, the tug Evening Tide was towing the barge No. 120 outside the navigable channel when the barge was holed and spilled 98,000 gallons of No. 6 fuel oil. About 1,100 property owners in Mattapoiset were involved in the class-action lawsuit.
