McClure and Boucher receive industry awards from NMEA

(SEVERNA PARK, MD – November 11, 2007) The National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) recognized two people in the industry with awards at its 50th Anniversary 2007 NMEA Convention and Expo held in October at Amelia Island Plantation, FL.

Robert J. McClure, who owns McClure Marine Electronics, Fort Lauderdale, FL., received the 2007 NMEA Technician of the Year Award.

A special NMEA Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Steve Boucher, CEO/Chairman of Airmar Technology Corporation.  The prestigious award had not been given since 2002.  It was awarded to Boucher by NMEA President David Hayden who noted that “The Lifetime Achievement Award honors living individuals who have improved the public good through the field of marine electronics.”

The award recipients were determined by a vote of NMEA dealer and trade members.
