NMEA honors top marine electronics products and companies with awards

(SEVERNA PARK, MD – November 11, 2007) The National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) recognized top marine electronics products and companies at its 50th Anniversary 2007 NMEA Convention and Expo held in October at Amelia Island Plantation, FL, with awards for outstanding products and service.

Furuno received Industry Awards in the Fish Finding, Radar, and Navigation categories for its FCV 585, FR8002 Series, and MAX SEA Navnet Explorer v12.5 products respectively.

Raymarine ST8002 Plus received an Industry Award in the Autopilot category, ICOM America M604 in the Communication category, and  KVH Tracvision M3ST in Entertainment.

FLIR Systems, Inc. received first place in the Marine Specialty Awards for its FLIR Navigator Thermal Imaging Camera. Navionics won second place with its Platinum Charts.

Furuno USA is the recipient of the Manufacturer of the Year Support Award, and Raymarine company’s Ray 218 VHF/Hailer received Best of Show.

All awards except the Best of Show were determined by a vote of NMEA dealer and trade members.  The Best of Show award was determined by a vote taken last month (October) at the 2007 NMEA Convention and Expo.
