Lawmakers recognize the poor condition of U.S. Coast Guard fleet

(WASHINGTON) — Members of Congress acknowledge that the U.S. Coast Guard's aging fleet is in poor condition, Reuters news service reported. A General Accountability Office report said the Coast Guard's assets are in poor condition and continue to decline. The U.S. Coast Guard is operating with one of the world's oldest maritime fleets and its missions are therefore under threat.
