Laker full of fuel oil catches fire, drifts dangerously in St. Clair River

(SARNIA, Ontario) — A laker loaded with fuel oil caught fire and drifted perilously close to the St. Clair River seawall, the Observer Newspaper reported. The 533-foot Sidsel Knutsen’s anchor just barely stopped the damaged vessel in time. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, which started in the engine room and caused major damage.
