Barge owner fined $75K in BC capsizing, pollution case

(CAMPBELL RIVER, British Columbia) — The owner of a barge that capsized in Robson Bight in 2007 has been fine $75,000 on pollution charges, the North Island Gazette reported. Ted Leroy Trucking has since gone bankrupt and has no money left to pay the fine. The owner says the court treated him unfairly after the Cathy L casualty, and his family business is ruined.
