Haiti’s ruined port is ready to accept small deliveries (VISUALS)

(PORT-AU-PRINCE) — Haiti’s main port is ready to accept small deliveries, the Wall Street Journal newspaper reported. The ruined Port-au-Prince docks can handle probably only about 20 percent of their previous capacity, but U.S. officials say a small dock is intact and can accept vessels for unloading with precautions. French and Canadian aid ships have arrived, and Crowley Maritime Corp. will experiment with a beach landing of a few containers.
