Bridge closes at Cairo, Ill., after barge strikes piling

(CAIRO, Ill.) — A bridge linking Cairo, Ill., and Wickliffe, Ky., was closed Tuesday after a barge struck a bridge piling, the Chicago Tribune reported. The towing vessel was the Mary Harter. Inspectors found no damage to the bridge and reopened it.
