Bath Iron Works a funding winner in Pentagon's shipbuilding plan

(BATH, Me.) — Bath Iron Works emerged as a winner in the Department of Defense's new acquisitions plan, the Morning Sentinel newspaper of Waterville, Me., reported. The Maine shipyard will build three Zumwalt-class destroyers for the Navy. One of those ships was originally supposed to be built at the Ingalls shipyard in Pascagoula, Miss., but that shipyard will be hired to build a smaller destroyer instead.
