(FAIRBANKS, Alaska) — A new exhibit at the University of Alaska Museum of the North offers a firsthand look at the ice-class research vessel Sikuliaq, Alaska Public Media reported. The 261-foot ship, built by Marinette Marine, is designed to sail through ice up to 2.5 feet thick. It is scheduled to be put into service next year by the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
