(MARTINEZ, Calif.) — A tugboat struck and damaged a refinery wharf at a Tesoro refinery, causing a small amount of gasoline to spill into Carquinez Strait, the East Bay Business Times reported. The accident happened two miles from the Benicia-Martinez Bridge. The Coast Guard deployed boom to control the spill, and the tug Independence’s four crewmen were held at the scene.
