Wave sweeps over bow of Canadian Coast Guard ship, injuring 2

(ST. JOHN’S, Newfoundland) — Two crewmembers were hospitalized after a large wave swept over the bow of a Canadian Coast Guard ship near St. John’s, the Canadian Broadcasting Service reported. One of the crew suffered a broken leg. The Anne Harvey was responding to a call from a disabled fishing vessel when the wave struck just as the Coast Guard vessel had reached open water off St. John.
