Washington cruise boat may have operated without a license

(MANSON, Wash.) — State officials have ordered a cruise boat on Lake Chelan to stop sailing while they probe whether the party vessel is properly licensed, the Wenatchee World newspaper reported. As a charter boat, the Twisted Pearl should be regulated by the Department of Labor and Industries, and it also may have been serving alcohol without a liquor license, investigators said. The operator says the boat has been operating this year for the benefit of charities only.
