Hudson River PCB dredging resumes after another stoppage

(FORT EDWARD, N.Y.) — General Electric huge PCB dredging project in the Hudson River has resumed after being halted over the weekend, the Albany Times-Union newspaper reported. Chemical levels in the water briefly tested above acceptable levels, but then subsequent tests showed the PCBs to be back down below the threshold again. It’s the third time this year that dredging was temporarily halted because too many PCBs were being carried downstream by the water.
