U.S. mariner knocked down, robbed during pirate attack off Nigeria

(PANAMA CITY, Fla.) — A U.S. mariner was the captain of a offshore supply vessel that was attacked by pirates off Nigeria last week, the News Herald newspaper reported. Donald Tyler’s vessel, the 203-foot Loving Tide, was robbed of several items while in a convoy that was supposed to be protected by the Nigerian navy. Tyler, of Panama City Beach, was knocked down and robbed of his Nikes.
