Towboat runs aground, partially sinks, leaks fuel in Missouri River

(WEST ALTON, Mo.) — A towboat that had struck on object in the Missouri River was forced aground, the St. Charles Journal newspaper reported. The Omaha, owned by Excell Marine, partially sank and was leaking thousands of gallons of fuel. The boat possibly struck an Army Corps of Engineers wing dike, which may have been hidden by high water.
