(JACKSONVILLE, Fla.) — A third lawsuit resulting from the sinking of the containership El Faro is being filed in federal court instead of state court, taking a different legal tack than the two previous suits, the Jacksonville Business Journal reported. The latest suit against Sea Star Line, the former name of TOTE Maritime Puerto Rico, was filed on behalf of crewmember Jackie Jones Jr. The suit's core claims include negligence under the Jones Act and also involve the Death on the High Seas Act.
