(LOS ANGELES) — The Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach are eagerly awaiting the first hybrid tug, the Los Angeles Times reported. The vessel uses less diesel fuel and emits less pollution because it runs partially on batteries. It is under construction at a Foss Maritime facility in Oregon and is due to arrive in Southern California next year.
