Some Maersk Alabama crew blame captain Phillips for hijacking

(MONTPELIER, Vt.) — Several of the crew of the Maersk Alabama blame their captain for not heeding warnings to stay away from waters near Somalia, the Associated Press reported. Capt. Richard Phillips was hailed as a national hero after he allowed himself to be taken hostage by the pirates. Even one of his supporters says he may have been “stubborn” for his decision to sail the ship through the area.
