Report: Justice Department investigating Shell's Arctic drill ship after Coast Guard finds safety violations

(ANCHORAGE, Alaska) — The shell drill ship Noble Discoverer may have had multiple pollution-control and crew-safety violations when it began operating in the Arctic last year, the Anchorage Daily News newspaper reported. The matter has been turned over to the U.S. Justice Department. The Coast Guard told members of Congress that it found 16 violations.
