(GRUZA, Serbia) — Rapp Marine has announced the opening of its new factory in Gruza Serbia. The official opening was conducted by the Norwegian ambassador in Serbia, Nils Ragnar Kamsvåg, together with the vice president of the Republic of Serbia, Rasim Ljajic, and Olav Fjell, chairman of the board of Rapp Marine.

"Today we are opening a top modern factory set for the future," said Fjell.

"Our goal is that the factory in Gruza, Serbia will be one of the most modern and efficient winch and deck machinery factories in the world," said Helge Vatnehol, CEO of Rapp Marine.

Rapp Marine called the investment is a significant factor in sustaining its competitiveness. It expects that its capability to secure competitive manufacturing capacity in cost-effective geographies will become even more important in the years ahead.

The basis for addressing this vital task is the expertise and experience that has been built up over decades within Rapp's work force and factories in Norway, Scotland and the U.S. This will now be shared and enhanced with the company's highly skilled staff in Gruza, Serbia. "We have in the recent years been strongly committed to the development of new technology and new products for the international markets, and we are convinced that with our Gruza production facility and our strong product range, we have established a solid foundation for the coming years," the company stated.
