(ROCKAWAY, N.J.) — Pettit Marine Paint, leading manufacturer of high performance marine coatings, announced today the release of an entry-level water-based antifouling paint, Neptune 5. This latest addition to Pettit’s award winning line of eco-friendly bottom paints provides lower applied cost per square foot, easier application and is priced for budget conscious consumers.
Formulated using the latest technology available, Pettit has created a hybrid paint film strong enough to handle the tough marine environment, yet it self-polishes similar to a seasonal ablative. With no strong solvent smell, Neptune 5 is very user-friendly in application, and has a low VOC release (the amount of solvent released into the atmosphere) – well suited to environmentally conscious boat yards and marinas in several parts of the country that are seeing increasing restrictions. Additionally, Neptune 5 can be applied over all other bottom paints. When compared to other similar coatings, Neptune 5 not only has a larger coverage area, it requires no respirator or sanding between coats and can be cleaned up with soap and water.
“We know that the Neptune 5 is going to be a hit,” said Don Zabransky, vice president sales and marketing, Pettit Marine Paint. “We are constantly trying to improve our product line, not only in functionality but also by reducing the impact on the environment, our customers, and the marinas and boatyards where the painting occurs. Neptune 5 fits in soundly as a cost-effective, high-performance and low-impact solution.”
Neptune 5 from Pettit Marine Paint, is available in black, blue, green and red from fine marine supply stores and boatyards throughout the United States, and is priced at $129 per gallon.
