Oregon ferry reaches end of the line after August marina fire

(KIRKLAND, Wash.) — A ferry that began service in 1924 likely won’t be repaired after a marina fire in August, the Oregonian newspaper of Portland, Ore., reported. The MV Kirkland’s engine room was gutted in the blaze at its dock in Kirkland. Owner Argosy Cruises said it has no plans to repair the vessel.
