Oil rig explodes in Gulf of Mexico; 2 missing, several others burned

(GRAND ISLE, La.) — An oil rig has exploded in the Gulf of Mexico and two workers are missing, the New Orleans Times-Picayune newspaper reported. The rig, owned by Black Elk Energy, is 25 miles southwest of Grand Isle. Twenty other workers were successfully evacuated, with several suffering serious burns. The Coast Guard is using helicopters and boats to search for the two missing people.
