Ocean Services wins Dart® contract

SEATTLE, WASH. April 13, 2009– Ocean Services, a member of the Stabbert Maritime
Group of Companies has been awarded a contract by National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration (NOAA) for the repair and maintenance of buoys in the Deep-ocean
Assessment and Reporting of Tsunamis program (DART®).
Upon contract award Stabbert Maritime had 30 days to upgrade one of their vessels’, the
205’ Ocean Pioneer, with Dynamic Positioning (DP) capabilities. Also included in the
refit was a new interior package and galley to modernize the vessel for her 22,000 mile
worldwide voyage. With the completion of the refit the Ocean Pioneer is mobilizing with
client equipment and set to sale immediately.
DART® presently constitutes a critical element of the NOAA Tsunami Program. The
Tsunami Program is part of a cooperative effort to save lives and protect property through
hazard assessment, warning guidance, mitigation, research capabilities, and international
coordination.
Stabbert Maritime’s experience in vessel operation and conversion played a vital roll in
their award of the contract. With the short delivery time, virtually all companies in the
Stabbert Group worked together in preparation for the start of the contract. The shipyard
division of Stabbert Maritime, Stabbert Yacht & Ship, was contracted to assist the refit
and DP upgrades with Ocean Services taking on the management and operational end of
the voyage.
