Nova Scotia plans to provide another $13 million for Nova Star ferry

(PORTLAND, Maine) — Nova Scotia has announced that it plans to provide another $13 million (Canadian) to keep the Nova Star ferry operating between Maine and Nova Scotia in 2015, the Bangor Daily News reported. The province’s economic development minister, Michel Samson, said he expects Gov. Paul LePage to fulfill a commitment for Maine to provide Nova Star Cruises with a $5 million line of credit. Ridership during the ferry's first season in 2014 fell short of projections.
