Nation’s oldest ferry may be threatened by Conn. dock project

(ROCKY HILL, Conn.) — A public hearing has been scheduled for a proposed dock construction project that may threaten the site of the nation’s oldest ferry, the Hartford Courant newspaper reported. The ferry between Rocky Hill and Glastonbury has been operating for 350 years. Some historically minded residents believe the adjacent dock would create currents that could lead to the ferry’s demise.
