(PORTSMOUTH, United Kingdom and LANHAM, Md.) — McMurdo, a leading emergency readiness and response provider, has signed a contract with Survitec Group, worldwide manufacturers and distributors for the marine, offshore, defense and aerospace survival technology industries.

The three-year contract will enable McMurdo to continue its global expansion, with Survitec being a major McMurdo global distributor and a key provider of maintenance and repair servicing through its worldwide network of service and distribution centers.

The contract will also include joint development of solutions that combine McMurdo’s emergency distress beacon and search-and-rescue technology with Survitec’s line of survival products.

Currently, for example, McMurdo EPIRBs are integrated as part of Survitec’s life raft solutions and McMurdo AIS man overboard beacons are used with Survitec’s life jackets.

Justine Heeley, managing director at McMurdo UK, said, “We are very pleased to be continuing our successful partnership with Survitec. Survitec’s global reach and unrivalled market knowledge will be instrumental in helping us expand into new markets, develop innovative solutions and, ultimately, save more lives.”

Frank Moffatt, chief procurement officer at Survitec Group, said, “McMurdo’s product range and reputation for high quality and innovation makes it the perfect partner for us. Survitec Group has presence in over 600 locations around the world through our expansive network of channel partners. This, coupled with the 50 Survitec service facilities worldwide, will enable us to increase McMurdo’s global coverage, improve customer service levels and help maximise business growth.”
