Maritime academy training ships called to NY to house Sandy response workers

(STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.) — Maritime academy training ships have been called in to New York Harbor for special duty housing emergency workers responding to Hurricane Sandy, Reuters news service reported. One is the TS Kennedy, normally berthed at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. About 1,200 FEMA workers are living temporarily aboard Kennedy and two other training ships.
