(CASTINE, Maine) — Cadets and other crewmembers aboard Maine Maritime Academy's training vessel rescued a sailor Wednesday about 600 miles off Nova Scotia, the Bangor Daily News reported. The 500-foot State of Maine was on its 90-day annual training cruise when the U.S. Coast Guard notified the crew that the sailboat Prodigal, which had structural damage, had radioed for help. The ship diverted and picked up solo sailor Michael Hurley.
