Lawsuit: Coast Guard vessels were racing when one struck tour boat

(CHARLESTON, S.C.) — Two Coast Guard vessels were racing when one of the them struck a tour boat in Charleston Harbor, according to a lawsuit, Courthouse News Services reported. The 2009 collision damaged the MV Thriller 09 and injured some passengers. The lawsuit by Pegasus Tours says the speeding Coast Guard boat that struck its tour vessel had interior display lights that were so bright that the crew didn’t have good vision of navigation obstacles.
