Ideal Tape cold-weather products receive Coast Guard approval

(LOWELL, Mass.) — Ideal Tape announced that it has received product approval per the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) requirements and the U.S. Coast Guard. Testing was completed as outlined in IMO Fire Test Procedures (FTP) Code 3 for passive fire protection requirements.

The following Ideal Tape cold-weather acrylic foil tapes have been approved as non-combustible, having low flame spread and being incapable of producing excessive quantities of smoke and toxic products:
• Cold Seal 788 plain foil, USCG COA Number 164.112/161/0
• Cold Seal 791 FSK, USCG COA Number 164.112/162/0
• Ideal Seal 777 jacketing (in three finishes), USCG COA Number 164.112/160/0
