(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) — A towing vessel transporting coal barges struck the Sherman Minton Bridge, the Courier-Journal newspaper reported. The initial report was that the Helen Lay, which was pushing 15 loaded barges, had lost its steering. Interstate 64 was closed for several hours while inspectors were confirming that there was no structural damage to the bridge.
