Hudson River vessel remove debris, tows dead whales (PHOTOS)

(HOBOKEN, N.J.) — An Army Corps of Engineers tugboat called the Gelberman patrols the Hudson River to remove debris from in between piers, the Jersey Journal newspaper reported. The Gelberman has even occasionally been called in to tow dead whales out of the harbor after they have been killed by larger ships. A similar Army Corps vessel, the Driftmaster, also operates in the area.
