Horizon Lines ship loses containers during Pacific gale (PHOTO)

(HONOLULU) — A Horizon Lines container ship struggled through a three-day storm in which containers were lost or knocked askew, the Honolulu Advertiser newspaper reported. The Horizon Hunter was en route from Los Angeles to Guam when it encountered persistent 50 mph winds and 30-foot waves. The vessel called at Honolulul Harbor to have damaged containers removed; six containers were lost.
