Hawaii to complete Superferry environmental impact study

(HONOLULU) — The state of Hawaii will complete the Hawaii Superferry’s environmental impact study even though a court order has forced the vessel to cease operation, the Honolulu Advertiser newspaper reported. The Department of Transportation says completing the study would lay the foundation for Hawaii Superferry or another company to resume the interisland service later. Superferry says it is shopping its vessel Alakai around elsewhere for work.
