(SARNIA, Ontario) — Several freighters struggled to get through ice in Lake Huron, near the mouth of the St. Clair River, the Observer newspaper reported. The Presque Isle, Charles M. Beeghley, Alpena and Edgar B. Speer all became stuck, sometimes for hours. Ice wasn’t a problem elsewhere, however, and lakers are gearing up for the 2010 season.
